Every year, Brompton retools their factory in the Autumn, closes the order book, and gets ready for the year ahead. As a preface to this, they host a meeting with the Brompton retailers and lots of very exciting, top-secret stuff gets disclosed. Of course, we’re not here to unfold the whole story — but we might ask you to stay seated while we post what has gotten lighter and better (did we just reveal a pillar of information there?). In any case, the minute these bikes are released and our production slots have been allocated, we’ll start taking pre-orders for the new year. We can say this, 2026 looks like a doozie!!

Colours

With so many combinations of Brompton bikes due to handlebar choice, gear choice, colour choice and electric or non-electric, retailers have been asking Brompton to cut down something — anything! — to reduce the SKU count. Indeed, on our last count, the 2025 models allowed for 172 combinations of Brompton bike, which very few retailers in the world could ever carry. The only thing Brompton could really do is cut back colour, and that’s what they did for 2026.

In 2025, the C-Line came in nine colours. In 2026 it comes in just six. Our first glimpse is that the only carryover colours are Amethyst Lacquer, Dune Sand and Matte Black. Of course we can’t reveal these colours, but don’t you love a haiku?

Plum Red lips stay sealed,
Palm Green waves but won’t spill news,
Cloud Metallic hush.

What does this mean right now? It means that if you have your heart set on a 2025 colour, you should grab that now! At the time of writing, the USA is just receiving their last shipment of 2025 C-Line bikes, and stock looks good. We like to keep our own stock low as winter begins to approach, but we can usually get you a bike in around a weeks time (learn more here). Just order below!

In past years, the P-Line had a completely different colour palette than the C-Line. In 2026, the P-Line colours will follow the C-Line colours with one exception. Brompton has deserted the dune sand and replaced it with something more…. oceanic. (The Pacific, to be exact). As for the G-Line, nothing changes except for a new colour: Space Black. Imagine matte black with a bit of sparkle. Oooh!

What’s New With The C-Line?

Here we have no issue spilling the tea because all our 2025 order forms all included pricing for the elusive Brompton C-Line 4-speed which never seemed to appear in 2025. We suspect this bike was delayed because retailers had too many 6-speeds left in their inventory, and it didn’t help that the new 12-speed model had already rendered these 6-speeds obsolete. In 2026 retailers will see the new four speed, and we couldn’t be more excited.

While the new 12-speed can conquer any terrain and any distance, the four-speed is true to the beating heart of Brompton: a lightweight, last-mile tool designed to connect urban life together at a fraction of the cost of transit or driving. This is a bike for all you condo owners out there, all you Bike Share riders ready to make the leap, and anyone who wants something fast, minimalist and lightweight.

What’s New With The P-Line?

Ok, this is where things get exciting. And, honestly it’s about time. Truth is, the P-Line is where we really need to keep our mouths shut. But, big things are afoot! Speaking of feet, Brompton really appear to have cranked stuff up some parts in the drivetrain department. And, stay seated, but we’re happy to post that a certain pillar of the bike is about to get much lighter. It could steal the show. Sorry, did we mean steel the show? Or maybe, unsteel the show. Our mistake.

But, the biggest changes are leading from the front. Up to now the P-Line hasn’t seen enough trickle-down bike from the T-Line. Even in terms of its looks it’s arguably been a glorified C-Line. But, grab a bigger headset and hear this: the new P-Line is way forkin’ lighter. This bike is set to ride with the same responsiveness and stiffness as the P-Line. That didn’t mean anything, right? Phew. In any case, stay tuned!

What’s New With The T-Line?

Nothing here has changed. Why would it? This bike is perfection. Sometimes you don’t need to crank it up when it’s already at 11.

What’s New With The G-Line?

Just a brand new electric bike! This has already been launched, so we can tell you all about it. Imagine the all-terrain versatility of the G-Line with a shot of power-assist. Climb hills, conquer more distance, and explore life beyond the pavement. At the same time, if you’re life is lived on the pavement, there’s no better bike that offers more stability, more comfort, or more next-to-your-desk convenience. With bikes expected to land as early as November, you can order your G-Line Electric here.

What’s New With The Electrics?

This year Brompton launched a new motor for the G-Line that featured a rear wheel drive, so some have wondered if this change might be seen across the line. Well, let’s suppose that was the case. If it was, this would mean that acceleration would be located within the wheel that produces acceleration. And, that makes sense. The front wheel is all about handling, the rear wheel is all about acceleration. But, the battery would probably stay up front, as it is with the G-Line Electric.

Of course, when it comes to a rear wheel, you can either choose an internal gear hub back there, or a motor – take your pick. You can’t have both. So, that probably means that there would only be a four-speed option. This would make the bike lighter, which is perfect if you’re walking up stairs at any TTC platform. Plus, there’s a good argument for less speeds because the motor has a smart assist that operates much like a continually adaptive gear. In any case, the gears are mostly there to offer some fine tuning, and that’s precisely what the four-speed offers. Brompton already makes the lightest folding e-bikes out there, so hold onto your seat again, but we could post that other aspects of the bike will be lighter too. Electrifying news!

Conclusion

Brompton’s 2026 lineup is shaping up to be one of the most interesting years we’ve seen yet, with a sharper focus on cutting clutter, refining colours, and dialing in the bikes that best match how people actually live and ride. Between the long-awaited C-Line 4-speed, the lighter and reimagined P-Line, and the promise of more thoughtful electrics, there’s plenty to keep us buzzing until the order books officially reopen. We’ll be launching a pre-order campaign soon, but meanwhile keep your eyes peeled to this page for more info, and if you want to be first in line for any updates, sign up below!
