Front Row Safety
In North America, there are no such regulations. Many parents rely on longtails, rear-mounted seats, or trailers. While these options may feel convenient, they were never designed for high-traffic streets. Most collisions involving bikes happen at the rear – and unfortunately, those are also the most fatal. Trailers are especially risky as they ride far behind the cyclist below drivers line of sight. Rear seats unbalance the bike and offer no shielding. Longtails improve balance but still leave kids exposed.
A European front loader takes a smarter approach. Children sit in the rider’s line of sight, surrounded by a regulated safety box, and placed well away from the most common points of impact. Infant Seating
Bullitt does not make infant seating yet (it’s coming!) but that’s partly because most people use tie-downs to strap a Maxi Cosi car-seat to the flatbed, and that’s all the safety you’d ever need. But, like many top cargo bike makers, Bullitt relies on trusted European brands like Steco and Melia, both who offer smart, secure options for toddlers passengers. As more and more car-seats move to the ISOFIX system, we highly recommend this product from WHWHY.

BBX Kit with Foldable Seat

And when it’s time to haul gear instead of kids? The seat folds down to just 10cm, giving you a wide-open cargo bay in seconds. Flexibility never looked this good.
Canopy Kit with Twin Seat
This is the gold standard for riding with kids. The Canopy’s integrated rollbar forms a protective shell around the cabin, and inside, the Twin Seat brings next-level comfort and safety.
