Koby Barhad is a speculative designer, researcher, and educator. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Art, UK, and a co-founder of the Radical Norms research lab at OCAD University, Toronto, Canada.

His work has been exhibited and published internationally: The Victoria and Albert Museum, UK; Science Gallery, Dublin; Z33 – House for Contemporary Art, Design & Architecture, Belgium; Museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts, Switzerland; Artforum, Wired magazine, Fast Company,, Dezeen and others.

In the Different Ride series, Koby delves into the wild world of Legal Personhood – who (or what) gets to be a ‘person’ with rights and protection? From animals and bodies of water to quirky characters and even bikes, this idea uncovers all kinds of unexpected relationships, desires, and risks.
