Scenery Coffee – Ndima-ini AA #036

On the southern slopes of Mount Kenya, Nyeri has earned a reputation for producing some of the world’s most extraordinary coffees. Rich volcanic soils, abundant rainfall and cool mountain temperatures create ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation, while Kenya’s celebrated SL28 and SL34 varieties are prized for their remarkable acidity, sweetness and depth of flavour.

Grown between 1,600 and 1,700 metres by around 1,000 smallholder farmers belonging to the Gakuyu Cooperative, this exceptional AA lot comes from the Ndima-ini washing station. Carefully fermented, washed and dried on raised beds, it’s a beautiful example of the precision and intensity that make Kenyan coffees so distinctive.

Expect an explosion of blackberry jam, redcurrants and gooseberry, balanced by bright citrus, black tea and rich panela sweetness. As it cools, the fruit becomes deeper and more concentrated, revealing dried mango, Medjool dates and a wonderfully jammy finish. Complex, vibrant and intensely sweet, this is Kenyan coffee at its finest.
